My next to last bottle from a case bought on release.
Darker-toned black & red fruits on the nose and palate, with decent acidity and persistence. Feels mature on the palate, although it very well might last another decade at this level.

Had some difficulty extracting the cork today, but the wine itself is sound. Classic tar and roses on the nose, expansive with black cherry fruit on the palate. This is drinking very well today, and while I don’t see this improving much, I don’t see any reason why it doesn’t have another decade or so at this level.
If my memory serves, this is a blend from their “home” Bric del Fiasc vineyard, along with fruit from Canubbi and one of the Rocche vineyards.

Very nice - more red fruits than black, good persistence, decent acidity and expansive on the palate. Some mentholated cherry fruit on the nose. 20 years in and drinking well today.

(CAROBRIC Scavino Barolo) Scavino Dear Friends, Three cellared examples of Paolo Scavino with perfect provenance (the 2001 in magnum). I'm boarding a plane as I type this but these should go without saying (at what should be excellent prices). I recently tasted the 1998 Annunziata and it is a stunning wine - it's tempting to keep a few of these for myself but I won't do so until all the requests have been filled: 1998 Paolo Scavino Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata (AG94)(RP92-95) 1999 Paolo Scavino Barolo Carobric (AG92) 2001 Paolo Scavino Barolo Carobric 1.5lt Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy2201 Italy2202 Italy2203

At Renee's, drinking very well, smooth, integrated, ripe, tasty but hard to recognize as Barolo
