The Meo is more red fruit driven with good purity and complexity. It is transparent, resolved and integrated. The sweetness is penetrating. Drinking beautifully in the zone.

The 1997 Meo Camuzet Clos Vougeot (recently left a French cellar) is still young and refreshing. A bit more substance than most 1997, which are light and transparent. Smooth and resolved array of red cherry, sous bois, smoked wood and mineral backbone. Very enjoyable with the combination of delicate fresh fruits and earthy flavours on the mid-palate. Smooth and resolved tannins. (89-90/100)

Six years since my last bottle. Unfortunately, very slightly corked; also unfortunately, no more left. Despite being not quite correct, it was still possible to get a sense of a very high quality burgundy worthy of its grand cru status. I wish I had more…

a touch musky on the nose with others picking up cork taint (not I). sexy wine, glides on the palate. described nicely by JH as "bottle sweetness". A powerful winemaker X a weak vintage -> a very suave bottle. I wonder what a proper bottle of this tastes like.

Dinner at Jade Court (Chicago, IL): I quite liked this wine, with its classic Burgundian nose, going a bit more towards the red-fruited side of the spectrum (probably a good thing given the riper vintage). There are some mild mushroomy tones here as well. The palate is probably as integrated as it's ever going to be: this is fully resolved and ready to drink.
