Perfect cork in a sense: only 2 mm saturated and was extracted in one piece without any effort. Also: the cork reeked of TCA as I removed the foil. After thoroughly cleaning it and attracting the cork, the mouth of the btl still reeked terribly much. 🦨
Thinking that the wine was probably gone, I sucked some with a straw. Lo and behold! The wine was pristine! So I taped up the inside and outside of the mouth with Gorilla Tape and decanted it. It worked like a charm! A less problematic way would be to siphon the wine, but difficult without a good tube...
Deep red with slight bricking. ❣️
A deep and velvety mature CS that has Napa written all over it. Acids are fresh and the big bold hug that this is has a long, balanced finish. Straightforward cassis and some small elements of complexity. Absolutely not a single whiff of oxidized notes.
If your corks are perfect, I see absolutely no hurry for harvesting the pleasures of this brilliant wine.

Torres Tasting (Grande Bretagne Hotel, Athens): Clear, evolved brick red color. Clean, medium intensity, more juicy with black fruits, tobacco leaves, sweet spices, currants and berries, sweet oak, developed. The wine is dry, medium body, medium intensity, medium acidity, medium alcohol, medium tannins, balaned, coffee, currant, berries, bell pepper, tobacco, mocca, medium finish. Outstanding quality of course but there was something lacking in it, premium price, drinking now. Lucky enough that I didn't get a flawed bottle...

Still enjoyable, but I recommend drinking it quite soon.

Miguel Torres Masterclass and Mas La Plana Mini Vertical (Grande Bretagne Hotel, Athens, Greece): This was obviously oxidized. Tasted from 2 bottles with consistent results.
