Same bottle as ACYSO. First glass was perhaps a bit foursquare, but the last half-glass of the evening really blossomed with more aromatic appeal and stem-spice. Palate is so fresh and bright for a 2006. At peak and a successful village wine in the context of 06.

Pretty solid, if a little uninspiring for Dujac. Of course, that's a really high watermark we're talking about. Some of the expected Dujac spice, as well as a pleasant mix of red and black fruit. A distinct earthy note that I've never found in any other Dujac vintage, which is a dead giveaway when being served Dujac blind. It's a bit simplistic overall, but drinking nicely now.

Jason’s ‘top’ village Burgundy (67 Pall Mall, London): Garnet in colour and with a to die for nose that was quite linear but so good all the same showing essence of wild raspberry. Powdery tannins and on the red fruit with great purity and blossomed in the glass showing its class. Drinking well and will keep for some time. Naughty to say... but think I marginally preferred the 2019 drunk recently! From Zalto Burgundy.

Jason's 'top' village Burgundy (67 Pall Mall): Bright, detailed nose that was immediately evocative of the autumn to come, then duskily floral and, with more air, quite sexy, like exotic cologne; my single favourite feature of all tonight's wines. Still quite grippy and tannic on the palate, with some maturity to the flavour profile. Oozed class.
