  • More rustic in style, great structure and complexity for a very inexpensive wine.

  • Strong alcohol nose with notes of plastic, burnt tire, mild tar, DARK cherry, campfire and a note of camphor. Initial taste was a punch in the mouth with alcohol, wasn't expecting such a hit at 13.5% (Cline's Zins with higher alcohol content don't hit me this hard). Dark berry/cherry/cranberry come through. Texture was thin and acerbic at first, note of "band-aid" and "pen cap" (try chewing on a bic pen cap and you will know what I mean.) After an hour of air, this wine started loosing the lift it had before (alcohol evaporating off?) and smoothed out greatly. Still had a short finish and left a musty mid-palate feel and I still tasted the plasticky undertones. Overall, not my favorite for QPR, but drinkable with a good stinky cheese and bread. I will most likely try one more bottle for comparison, but wouldn't buy it for over $11.00.

  • Pretty earthy and a bit rough. Dark fruit nose and the taste added some spice and ?smoke?. Anyway, a lot of flavors for $10.

  • Fun blend with good red fruit and spiciness. Held up to 4+ days in the fridge with Vacuvin and came out pretty nice and presented a softer tannin structure so I would guess it could benefit from a lot of decanting time. A bit of heat in the back end but not the tongue covering type so it did not ruin it for me. Solid at the price ($8+ at the winery)

  • Aromas of red fruit, black pepper and a hint of cinnamon. Loads of cranberry juice in the mouth, some plum and spice too. Finish was too hot, but solid wine overall, and great QPR.
