Sour cherries, dried cranberries on the nose, mixed in with lots of black pepper, beef drippings and green olives. Dry tannins, tangy acid, the sour cherry and red currant fruit tastes brisk and the spicy oak is blended in well. I’m enjoying the secondary flavors of green and black pepper, grilled meat and pickles. Long finish with notes of olive. Showing well now, but still plenty of time to go. Mostly Grenache with Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault.
Wonderful nose of fruit and spice which carry through to the palate; soft tannins, long finish, and very well balanced. A slight touch of heat on opening that dissipates rapidly. A total pleasure to drink and at $30 a steal. It should continue drinking nicely over the next four to five years.
Light shone thru wine slightly. Palate has gorgeous, ripe fruit, medium tannins and a touch of oak. Nothing sticks out, seamless, classy. Good depth and finish. Keep going back for the next sip because of the deliciousness. Drinking well day 2, balance and fruit have held, with a hint of heat emerging.
Lavender and mint in the fruity bouquet. On the palate good concentration with herbs and spices, blood, olives, good acidity and juicy, soft and round tannin. Overall this is a soft and juicy, beautiful wine. Early maturity and lovely now. The tannin is still firm, so the wine can last at least until 2017 and probably a bit longer.
