Hershey was right on. This wine has totally fleshed out. Lush blueberry and sweet plum fruit with a touch of spice and smoke. Mature smooth tannins. Might even develop more complexity with another year or two of age. Great with with short ribs with a garlic chimichura.

Very dry, tannic, and lacking much fruit... well integrated and I can see how some would really like it, but it was only okay for me and definitely needed food.

Great purple color, and purple sweettart notes on the nose. The wine was lush and full on the palate, almost like unsweetened purple sweetarts, and powdered blueberries, with a chalky texture, and almost ashy finish. Acid was very smoothly integrated. I think this wine will be even better 3-5 years from now, perhaps even more if you can wait.

Girard makes a very nice and bold Cab Franc. Rich and full of berry fruit.
