Maturing black fruit palate. Holds significantly more tannin than the 2013 we just tried. Rings true about them trying softening these wines in recent years to make them more accessible. Subtle black fruit to the aroma. Earth emerging on the palate, some underbrush-ishness. Drinking well right now.

Drank over a two hour period. It started a little closed, light tannins, and not much fruit. It really opened up over the next two hours. In the end there were hints of vanilla, oak, and cherry with dark fruits. Overall, a very nice wine. Just give it time to open up.

Four nights in Manhatten (Manhatten, NY): Probably had more fruit a few years ago as this bottle was dominated by the oak, with earthy notes, low acidity, integrated tannins, with hints of plum and currants. Drink soon!

Still had a lot of structure but has lost its fruit. Solid cab but past its prime in my opinion.

Still structured and refined but missing that classic Mt. Veeder fruit.
