blind I was lost. I guessed Bordeaux left bank even it felt "sweet". This stage was a bit too evolved. 1 month before it was fresher and fruitier and thetannins more firm. Stilla great wine . 97

Tasted blind in a a flight of Right Bank wines. The wines were double decanted 3 hours prior to tasting. My first place wine, the group also ranked it first. Very rich nose, showing coffee grinds, mature cherry, caramel/toffee, earth and spice. Just an amazing nose. Beautifully lush and giving palate, showing rich and unctuous red fruits, in a medium weight, lithe texture with huge length. Still quite young and lively, this is a Burgundy lovers Bordeaux.

Nose: smoke, green apple, leather, forest floor, wet earth, dried leaves, black tea, graphite Notes: in excellent condition, both fill and the label were perfect. Nevertheless, I'm not so impressed with this legendary vintage given the fame and reputation. The overall palate is quite elegant and fine but the profile of the nose is quite dull and full of dark and wet aromas, it's fair to say that one would expect a little more on this wine. I haven't had it for a couple of years already and frankly this has been a little disappointing. It always gives me pressure when I have to write negatively about a legendary wine or vintage but somehow many of them really don't live up to its name. Am I drinking this at the wrong moment and should've waited another few years before opening it? I'm inclined to say this wine won't get any better with aging and more likely than not it's going downhill. I am however only judging this from the bottle I had today so there's no other bottle to compare but I'm not impressed. Drink: now+ Rating: 91

By far the best Petrus beside 89 and 71. Close to his peak. Fruity, lush but not overwhelming. 98-99

Tight to start. Opened amazingly after 30 minutes, faded after 1.25hrs. Tons of amazing flavors, soft, elegant.
Cork 10/10
Did not decant.
