Sour cherries, violet, balsamic, and a bit of graphite. Fine tannins and a mouthwatering finish. This is lovely, with a soft, luscious mouthfeel. Felt much bigger/headier than a previous bottle, and is definitely at peak.
Paired this with a spicier pasta than the wine needed; it fared better with soft, mild cheeses after dinner.

Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; Special wines (@ RW): Beautiful and complex bouquet, herbs and spices, dark berries, barnyard, stable and some medicine. On the palate chocolate, a lot of fresh acidity, some pleasant sweetness, tannin with a soft bite. A refined and also firm wine. Really beautiful wine.

Dinner at Red House. Tasted blind. Drank from bottle over 2+hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of initial VA that took a while to blow off, then red cherries, roses, sweet coconut oak. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, fine high tannins, medium+ going to full body with air. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of concentrated sour red cherries, red plums, redcurrant, rosewater, menthol, sweet oak spices. Very long finish. Very good quality. Initially feels quite Burgundian, then with air is obviously Barolo - but a modern one. I'll keep my remaining bottle another 3 years and see if the oak integrates more.

so I had the chance to try this wine again, this time from magnum. Its Sandrone and its as always, a fantastic wine despite what vintage. This is not one of the stronges but still a fantastic wine

Floral and delicious aromas of a semi modern barbaresco. Soft and well made, with fine tannins.
