Deep red with hints of brown coming through and not just around the edges. Moderate nose - pleasant but not particularly powerful. On the palate still plenty of acidity and tannins which have softened but are still somewhat mouth coating. Some fruit although not particularly vibrant with soft tertiary notes of leather, earth, some dried herbs. Oak was present but not dominant as some reviewers found. Enjoyable.

Murky, lacking purity, has a fuzzy muddled quality I blame on the excessive oak. But, could be poor storage? (I bought this bottle in 2015, so who knows). Regardless, the oak has (as one wine retailer described it) "run around like Pac Man and gobbled up all the fruit". After 3 hours some fruit did emerge and join the oak tannin party.

Solid performance. On the softer and browner side. Good balance.

Bright red cherries, slightly sour, with some leather, but closed and tannic. I think this wine needs more time to show its stuff.
