Lovely GV just coming into a secondary phase. Hazy memories from last night include a medium-full bodied wine with green peas, pear, stonefruit (esp. apricots) and an overall refreshing, crisp, dry and long finish. Very balanced and tasty now but still youthful after 11 years: no rush on this (A-).

From memory this need some time to open up but pretty impressive after a few hours. Fairly rich with lots of grapefruit pith and mineral notes. This seemed pretty punchy though...I suspect the 13.5% on the label is little light.

let us look passed the fact that this wine is corked. sweet green richness on the nose. pear fruit. arugula. very pretty pear expressed. palate is shows focus with mineral and fruit underpinnings meeting in the middle. just plain delicious and has quiet floral nuance up front. finishes simply with an emphasis on the richness of fruit. oh yeah, and it's corked too.

This is quite an impressive bottling, typical to the house style and showing good GV typicity (this grape this variety has the same quality of matching rich opulent honeyed fruit, with an interesting tangy bitterness like chenin blanc, but of course that is how far the comparison goes... two completely different creatures). A lot going on here, rich and fullflavoured. Not over the top though. Impressed me more than his rieslings. Very good Q/P at 28 EUR

Ok, now, compared to the Terrassen this is a very pronouced in fruit nose and powerfully rich palate. Intesnse stuff. Works at $50.
