This was deep rich and dark with black currants. Earth and blackberry on the nose. Comes off really hefty on the palate, not jammy like new world, but not with the lift that balancing acidity brings to the native big Italian red varietals. Tannins completely integrated - and lots on the side of the bottle. Certainly a well-made wine, but not what I enjoy most about Gaja. I usually stick to the Nebbiolo's but thought he might bring a modern Italian flair to Cabernet.

Decanted for 30 minutes before drinking. Purple with some browning around the edges. The nose is floral and spicy (tarragon and eucalyptus) with black cherries and black berries on a wet stone. This is a well integrated balanced wine with a feathery texture of fine grained tannins and dark red and black fruits finishing long. Delicious.

2 Stunden vor dem Probieren geöffnet. Brauche immer noch 2-3 Stunden, um volle Aromen zu entwickeln. Toller Cabernet. Wenig Leder und eher weich. Voll im Trinkfenster aber auch keine Eile.
