  • 14% ABV. Decanted for two hours in the morning, poured over dinner. Medium garnet colour. Good red and dark berry fruit, strawberry, red cherry, blueberry, blackberry, red roses, violets, truffle, almond paste, peanut, light chocolate, and intense spice, with good acidity, round, well-integrated tannin, and great persistence. Kept improving as time passed, and became smooth, balanced, and harmonious. Drinks very well, and show even better the following two days, gradually developing a maturer profile. Great to drink now, and will keep drinking at this level for another eight to ten years at least. A great Barbaresco!

  • Consistent with my earlier note. Dark colour and so smooth and elegant with underlying power of dark and red fruit with notes of rose petals and some smoked flavours. I think it is at or close to peak with no rush.

  • Orange rim, deep red center with orange tint. A refined classic Barbaresco. Dark berries, cherry, smoke, tar. Medium-high acidity and silky medium-high tannin. We let it breathe in the bottle, but did not decant, for 90 minutes (thanks to advice from OldWines here). Very enjoyable and should be able to age beautifully for another decade or two in a proper cellar.

  • In my cellar since release, decanted at about 4pm and tasted over several hours. Another great bottle of this wine. This was nice from the start though it was probably best around the 90 minute mark. Extremely youthful in appearance with no bricking whatsoever. There is some tannic structure remaining with good acidity as well yet a very plush mouthfeel. Absolutely spot on Nebbiolo typicity with the whole gamut of rose petals, earthy truffle, cherry and spice notes on the finish. Delightful with a grilled Elk tenderloin. 94-95 likely to still improve and longer lived than expected, so in a good cool cellar this should be good through the end of this decade.

  • Magnum.
