  • Loved this wine -- and especially its excellent value (just under $16). Its color is ruby red with a concentrated herbal fragrance of blackberry and cassis. It had a smooth and soft flavor yet full-bodied and well-balanced. Will definitely seek this one out to buy more. Yum!

  • Purplish red, excellent depth of fruit that was a bit medicinal at first sip but then settled down. Black fruits and earth and some minerals and decent acid. Versatile food wine.

  • Opened and decanted for about an hour. Appearance: very purple in color, almost a bright purple but could not see my fingers through the wine. Aroma: On the nose I first got knocked over with a funky wet dog aroma, this surprised me and I was taken aback by this, but I was also intrigued as well. I then picked up cassis, blackberries, black cherries and a floral component. Taste: Lots of raisins with black fruits hints of licorice, chocolate and a smokey aspect. Dry with firm acidity and a nice tannin structure. Finish was medium-long and the texture was chewy and there was an earthy aspect on the finish. Overall this was a very good wine and a nice surprise. Paired well with Chicken Parmesan.

  • This was the only blind of the night, with no one guessing it. I loved this wine, my kind of style. The best food WOTN in my opinion went well with the meat, sausage and mushroom pizza we had and spicy chicken wings! Yummy….
Popped and poured. Dark Ruby Red in color. On the nose, sweet black fruits, licorice, bitter chocolate. On the palate, this wine was medium-bodied, ripe and firm acidity with sweetish raisiny sweetness. Great food wine with some guessing this was an Amorone Valpolicella. Although, the alcohol could be felt on the nose initially, with about 1 hour in, the alcoholic fumes disappeared and the wine tasted smoother. A modern old world wine. One of my favorite wines of the night. 90pts

  • Intriguing nose of sweet blackberry preserves, pretty floral notes and graphite that just jump out of the glass. On the tongue, this medium-to-full-bodied wine shows beautiful black fruits, mineral, smoke and bitter chocolate on a long and elegant finish. This is a perfectly balanced dry wine that has so much depth and character, you'll be tasting it minutes after your last sip. What a great wine and at such a great price!
