Woof. The first sip is a barely drinkable wine, a sadly typical California butter-dip chardonnay but with even less deft oaking than most. It tastes like raw wood, not toasted wood, and bites back with a wincing bitterness on the back end. Can't possibly finish this even from 375ml tonight, so will have to check back tomorrow to see if it improves, if I dare.
