This wine impressed me with it's weight and density. Massive dark purple fruit nose and on the tongue. Layer upon layer of deep pile fruit, plums, dark cherry and raisin. This will certainly last another 5 years.

Decanted for one hour. In a good spot now. Nose not powerful. Palate is smooth and lingering. Finish average. The 42% Cab Franc make this wine special. Developed while in the glass. Very accomplished wine making.

Open 3 hours: Smells wonderful, wet cedar, mint, rosemary, blackberries and plum and a hint of pipe tobacco. Medium weight and intensity on the palate, really nice acidity and dusty tannins with a relaxed grip. There is a blend of red and dark fruit flavors on the palate, again some nice herbal notes, and dry cedar board in the finish. A bit gritty in the finish as I drink more of it, but not bad, as the initial feel of this wine is very smooth and that extends into the finish. The finish isn't terribly long but it isn't short either. This is really nice wine overall, pretty complex and delicious. In a nice place, if you have a lot of this, it's worth checking in on. No rush though, I wish I had some more.

Wow, last bottle. much better than last year. Deep red. Big expressive nose with cedar, pipe tobacco (that Bowl of Roses scented tobacco my dad used to smoke - wonderful memories). dried fruit and such from raspberry, blackberry in teh nose. Subdued oak character, great palate and finish. could have a bit more earthiness and another couple layers of complexity to better satisfy, but then it only cost me $31 so who should complain. this was an excellent QPR. Not sure of current pricing. Good style for American meritage blend. very good with a steak, mashed potato and cobbled together gravy dinner. Second Night: finished her off... still good but some extra oak flavor is coming forward. Still goo fruit. tobacco is gone but some weak cedar lingers. Still good but not so nice as last night. Drink or hold.

Still excellent! This wine is so well balanced and was a pleasure to find in the cellar. I think it'll keep well for another few years
