Community Tasting Notes (20) Avg Score: 90.8 points

  • Consumed over 2 days, (vacuvined and refrigerated), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, pale garnet with some edge bricking. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of cherry, pomegranate, bramble, rosehip, and anise. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, high tannin but on the soft silky side, medium body, medium+ intensity, 14.0% abv, with developing flavors of black cherry, anise, leather, and forest floor with a long finish. Overall an outstanding wine excelling in complexity and length. Nearing it's peak (2-3 years perhaps), will drink well for next decade easily.

  • Bottle seemed correct to me but just not that great. A little musty on the nose with a noticeably dry finish. Maybe an off bottle or maybe this needed a multi-hour decant as I popped and poured.

  • No formal notes - drinking very well right now. Great balance and do Barolo-ness!

  • ....
Same btl as R&Rler. Pleasant surprise given it was decanted at the venue about 90 minutes prior to drinking. Things are coming together with some violets and tar on the nose. More floral notes along with dark fruit, licorice, mocha and faint underbrush emerging from the palate. Pretty tasty but the best is still ahead.
