Living in South Africa I don’t get to drink many barbarescos. Luckily I have a number still in the USA which I bring over when I can. I really am enjoying this old Italian. The nose is beautiful with a herby rusty component. The tanins are still strong but enjoyable and Well integrated. Drinking well now but it will still last as it opens up beautifully in the glass.

share with pat at selkirk manor. celebrating another week of SIP. (stay in place/sip in place) due to the pandemic. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. no formal notes. this was an enjoyable bottle which still has some life left in it. still showing aroma and flavor of black cherry. full body. long finish. anyone holding bottles should probably drink over the next year or two.
