Tasted at the château and served blind in decanters. Nose of honey, raisins, medjool dates, almost nutty. More sharp on the nose than expected. Later on also showing honeydew melon. Very elegant now. Not so sweet on the palate at this age, and not too bitter on the finish.

Dinner at Richard's and Anita place on december 17, some short notes of the spectacular line-up:Cork intact! Fresh, acids, soapy (positive), sweet touch, hint of vanilla, total balance, mouth filling and length, at the end a delicate bitter. What a treat, Thank you Richard!

Two separate bottles ex chateau. One beautifully refined with hints of orange peel and old rum hints. But surprising freshness and great harmony. The other bottle a little less perfect. Some dust and hints of cigar.

Epic Bordeaux for an Epic Birthday!; 9/1/2021-9/12/2021 (Paris & Bordeaux): I think this is the oldest vintage that we have tried and in that way it is very fun. It was overshadowed by the '67 and maybe even a bit by the '66 but here you get even more history and '34 is a vintage that we've really enjoyed on the trip so far. This is still beautiful. You don't really sense that much difference in age between this and the wines from 30 years later which is shocking. It's perhaps a bit darker and maybe there is some rum caramel there but generally it's still that very refined and precise sweetness which is oh so light at the end and then just lingers.

Le Cinq Legends Dinner 2018 (Le Cinq Restaurant, George Cinq Four Seasons, Paris): Wow! What nuanced flavors of orange peel. Never ending finish. So much complexity
