Allowed to breathe in glass 1 hour. Clear garnet-blood red. Lovely bouquet of dusty dried blackberries, black cherries and their liqueurs; fennel, underbrush, mocha, herbs, hints of tobacco, soy sauce and balsamic. Medium-full body, velvet mouth feel, well balanced. Excellent wine, fading gracefully.

This wine sat in my parents basement for all these years. It was absolutely delicious! Perfect balance of fruit and soft tannins. It is almost humourous that the recommended drinking window ended a decade ago. Needed to be decanted (broken cork) but still lasted throughout all of dinner. If you still have a bottle of this -enjoy!!

The story of being a wine geek is this-the last bottle is always the best. This is so delicious tonight. There is still plenty of silky fruit, as well as leather, spice and an endless, minerally finish. Oh so good. Damn!

Opened and poured. Deep red to orange. Vanilla, sweet cherry, tobacco, iodine, cedar, black currants form the aromatic profile. Fruity and round, full bodied, showing nice secondaries and maturity. A nice showing for an 18 year old, and for $15, this is the equivalent of a $200+ bottle in today's overpriced market. Ahh the good old days. Certainly in prime drinking window, didn't stay around for day two tasting to detect oxygen impact.
