Palate: Caramel, vanilla, apricots and hints of buttered popcorn.

This is a wine that is dominated by it's oak treatment. I have to say, though, the oak treatment is pretty good and the fruit holds up OK. It's a very drinkable wine but I found it hard to pair with foods. Where an inexpensive white burgundy might be simple and cooperative when it comes to pairing . .this wine is the opposite and offers a challenge . .but also a possibility for greatness if paired correctly. Bacon wrapped scallops might be nice. Need something smokey to go with all this (good tasting) oak.

  • A good everyday Chardonnay to keep in the house that offers unbelievable value. Nice and crisp with hints of apple and tropical fruits. The oak is nice, too. I would prefer this to California Chardonnays which are easily triple the price for comparable quality.
