My first taste of Romorantin and not a disappointment. A nose and mouthfeel similar to Chardonnay coupled with the sweetness and racy acidity of a spatlese. Nice minerality and a medium finish. A bit better chilled than at room temperature where the wine seemed just slightly out of balance. Paired well with Japanese fare. Quality and price are in line. Would buy again.

(François Cazin Cuvée Renaissance, Cour-Cheverny) François Cazin is an important Cour-Cheverny producer of the Romorantin grape in both sec and demi-sec styles. The Cuvée Renaissance is made from grapes lightly affected by botrytis and dried on the vine to concentrate their flavors. It shows an intensely floral nose with hints of exotic spices; on the palate, it has a richly viscous, waxy texture and a moderate charge of residual sugar balanced by crisp acidity, with good length. The 2002, also on the market, is developing a lovely secondary character. Little-Known Wines of the Loire
(Francois Cazin Cour-Cheverny "Cuvee Rennaisance") With 2005 being a hot vintage for whites in the Loire this wine did not quite have the acidity I like. It had nice apple cider flavors and a soft mouthfeel plus some hidden acidity bit in general this dissapointed, Oh well. Maybe time will do this wine some good. I prefer the 02, 04 and '96 as the acidity in these wines is great.

Too sweet too acidic too green? I like sweetness I like acidity and i like greenness but there's too much of all three and this one.

very rich, minerally, has an herbacious thing going on. Sweet. Maybe lacks some balance. Prefer the 02.

Probably my first experience of this varietal, if Romarantin is correct. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. Good (82.5).
