This bottle is the last of this generation of Clos de Betz given the old label. Had my doubt about the wine given its age but was pleasantly pleased. Initial tastes on PNP were somewhat muted and closed. After 2+ hours the wine opened to classic aromas of a Bordeaux style blend. On the palate dark fruit, blackberry and black current. Still a bit of tannins. Saved 1 glass for day 2.

This was the last bottle of 2000 vintage I had. It drank very well considering I held it too long. A real nice carmel/cherry taste with well integrated tannins with a nice medium finish.I had just finished a bottle of 2001 and the 2000 was much better. This is the fun of collecting certain wines. Every year is different. You will notice the bottle I reviewd three months ago was scored a little higher as it had more structure.

Pop and pour, decanted the rest. Very surprised at the quality still in this wine at the 10 year mark. Mostly Black cherry, leather and tobacco. Very smooth wine with no noticeable alcohol. Tannins well integrated. Bob has been encouraging us to drink the 2000 and not hold it any longer. So glad we did!

Popped and poured at rest. Nice dark ruby in color. Nose of cherries and some dark fruit as well, very alive. Palate initually of red fruits, cherries and plums, minimal earthiness but some fine tannins at the end that held it together. Not over the top, just another nice washington red with a little age to keep it on the medium to full body level, held up well to the Italian fare. Still with plenty of life to it. Another great winebid qpr!
