  • Since the last tasting, the complaint on this wine stands - that it is dense for the sake of being dense, as opposed to being ethereal with the sweetness quality. Still a very pleasing wine.

  • Sooo dense and viscous, this is ripe and rich. “Fairy motor oil” is an astoundingly brilliant comment about this wine by “dream”! There is good acidity here, nice tangy notes of sharp apricot, lemon-custard, brown sugar, plum... yet there is the motor oil part, which is a bit too heavy for what I hope for in a fine TBA. Yet, the Wine was a big hit and really enjoyable.

  • Fabulous wine with insane viscosity and classic flavors of apple, mandarin orange, apricots and minerals. Great mouth-watering acidity easily balances out the sweetness here which is sustantial but not cloying. Finishes with great extract and intensity along with a titillating tangy complexity. Like fairy motor oil. Still on the way up. 96+

  • Matt Neel understands this wine (review: Wines blind 2/2/2012 (Battery Park City)). None of the other tasters quite seem to get it?

AP # 15 02. Deep gold. Unctuous. Aromatic and volatile aroma - but still smooth. Nose and palette? Glace strawberry. Wow. Thick and sweet but not cloying. Very long - 25-30 seconds. With airing you get some papaya and passion fruit, but the strawberry stays. There's a hint of bitterness at the back end so I score 99, not a perfect 100. But I've never (yet) scored a wine 100... Tasted versus a couple of extremely good Keller TBAs, a remarkable Weil TBA, and one of the best ever Haag BAs. They came close but this was better. You get the picture.
