Cellared properly. Decanted sx hours. Nose is nonexistent. Fruit is very subdued, emerging late and underneath the more savory profile. Some subtle spice box fighting with some sour cherries on the finish. Way too hot overall. I think this bottle is coming apart. My experience with this wine maker has been good, but this offering is weak.
Ripe fruited and structured. High alcohol detracts from pleasantries, making it a wine for bolder flavors, such as steak, etc... Overall though, ripe, dark fruit, cedar and spice dominate the wine. Rather simple and straightforward. Best during the first couple hours of being open, seeming to become unbalanced by nights end. Meh. Glad I only had one.
Drank over a two day period. I thought was better the second day. Interesting things going on with this blend probably due to the cab franc percentage which seems to dominate. Very different fruit from what I am used to. Enjoyed it very much!
