From Mag, definitely towards the end of its lifespan but still in good shape! Tertiary aromas dominated by the mourvedre, not too hot or heavy. Interesting. Drink asap.

Drink now. Benefits from a good food pairing. Decanted for an hour. Forward notes of ripe plum on the nose. After an hour it all came together. Paired exceptionally well with Tablas Creek’s Boeuf Provencale recipe on their site - a real case of 1+1=3. Both the food and the wine sung beautifully together in harmony, while neither by themselves was especially remarkable.

12/30/20 Day 1 PnP - smells only of iron, maybe some steak. Taste is prune/date, concentrated. Medium acid, full-bodied, tannin medium to medium +. Will report back. Delish! 12/31/20 - Day 2 - sat out in the decanter. Smell of dark fruits. Taste strongly of dark fruits. This is so good! Simply scrummy! TLDR; oooo dang it's guud!

(Tablas Creek Esprit de Beaucastel) Very dark red violet color; baked berry, black cherry, cherry syrup nose; a little tight, appealing, tart berry, black cherry, anise, mineral palate, reminiscent of a Chateauneuf-du-Pape from a ripe year; medium-plus finish (45% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 5% Counoise)

Wonderful. Still had great fruit and soft tannins. Better than the 2013 we had last night.
