Almost pure creme and butter at first, with subtle citrus oil and fig flavors, this wine showed gradual evolution to include essences of pear, green apple, and vanilla, in addition to a flinty minerality

the end of an era; my last martinelli chardonnay, and it doesn't exactly bum me out. does helen make this wine? the mystery of who really makes the martinelli wines is more compelling than the wine itself. this isn't so much a problem of what is lacking, it's what it has too much of...oak! jesus, pass the woodchipper. how can this wine come from the same vineyard that marcassin puts it's imprimateur on? shockingly different. really, i should score it lower.

CITRUS AND MELONS IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR. NICE ACIDITY AND A MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
