Another great dinner in Zurich with CVA, Benoit and Andrew, this one at Heugumper. This was a very generous contribution from CVA. My first experience with this wine, a real treat to drink this rare wine - and i believe the first vintage this was made...This was a Grenache themed dinner - drank alongside 06 God Only Knows Cayuse, 2011 Orrin Swift D66, 2011 Favia Lincoln, 1996 Rayas
Medium purple color, some bricking at the rim. Bright red fruits, rhubarb, cherry underneath the oak. Secondary flavors of earth, herbs, black olives, anise. Elegant mouthfeel, especially for Priorat. Medium and layered finish.
Great example of a well aged Priorat. This bottle seemed to be past its prime, but still very enjoyable nonetheless

Dry, overly oaked, with loads of fresh, bright, wild strawberry, cherry and wet earth characteristics. I was honored to taste such a rare wine, but it did not float my boat. Perhaps this was better in its youth.

Drank at 67
Nose of red fruit, berries, earth and wood. Rich palate with quite some depth. Nice.
