Above Clos St Denis, on poor active limestone soils. I enjoyed it, this is a bit old school, dark in color, but the wine is fully on, red and dark rustic fruits, sturdy, tannins are present and fine, this is well concentrated, with a fine limestone inflected finish. I love all the upper slopes in Morey (Genevrieres, En la rue de Vergy, Chaffots) they always deliver outstanding value. Amazing to see this in superb shape at 18 years of age.

Smells of light red fruits, medicine, & alcohol at the open, evolving to wet stone, red currants, & earth. Tastes of closed purple fruit, sour cherries, & currants, developing into classic complex balanced dark earthy fruit after 30-45 minutes. Medium-full bodied.

Smells of light red fruits (red cherries & strawberries), & stone. Tastes of blue fruits, red cherries, raspberries, and is slightly bitter (a hint of cherry lozenges that fades with time). Light-Medium Bodied. Needs 1 hour to peak. Enjoyable, but not great.

Smells of cold blue fruits, stone, cherry, & alcohol. Tastes of slightly bitter red (cherry) fruits. Very simple. Light bodied. This wine made several confusing transformations. It tested best right out of the bottle, proceeded to get lighter & weaker, and then came back to life after 45 minutes. We'll have to try it again.

Smells of red fruits, cherries, earth, and slightly of alcohol. Tastes of raspberries & black currants (?) - nice acidity and slight tannins. We enjoyed the wine on its own, but we loved it as a pairing for roast chicken & tarragon jus.
