With the tropical fruit (thankfully) in the background, the wine's granite/arzelle minerality comes to the forefront. Quite interesting - almost a guilty pleasure - because the wine certainly lacks acidity. Still, it's astonishing that a 23-year old viognier from a poor vintage can still be this intriguing.
