Decanted 1hr. Colour showing some maturity with some orange on rim. Nose has really opened up with excellent dark red fruits and wonderful secondary farmyard, truffle nose. Palate has fine tannins, medium acid and good balance. Really quite impressive for 2004. Drinking early for a grand Cru but very enjoyable and well balanced. Drink now-2024.
Decanted 30 mins. Medium red colour with orange rim. Excellent nose with clear truffles, red cherries & violet notes. Palate is round, full and powerful. Excellent fine tannins with strong zip of acid. Light red fruits at the moment with hint of herb and very light vanilla. Tannins are excellent providing structure and texture. This is drinking now but will grow into a splendid wine. Now-2030.
a worthy accompanient to a dinner of beef bourguignon, and a good 2004. Medium ruby with a slightly browning edge. The nose began as earth and mushrooms, and after an hour or so more fruit and meaty notes were noticeable. Medium bodied with ample earth and leather and meat notes and moderately long with a nicely balanced finish. This is in a nice place now - ready to drink but no need to immediately polish off. Glad I have 5 more bottles.
