Much better than the '05 we had earlier this week, this still had nice depth and richness underlying its blackberry fruit. A pretty, baking spice berry cobbler nose, blackberry and black raspberry with cigar box notes. Much better.

Wonderfully unctuous mouth coating blast of deep black fruit with good structure and a delicious long silky tannin finish. Not all that complex but just so darned good and enjoyable that I wish for more.

Somewhat muted nose, ripe and jammy but not over the top accompanied by just enough drying tannins for a lengthy and enjoyable finish. Delicious. A stark contrast to the ’05 vintage which was disappointing.

Enjoyed the 2004 Rocca Cab some time ago, and was hoping for a similar experience. Not quite as good, but still enjoyable. Muted fruit on the nose. Strong black fruits on the palate, with mild oak and a medium length finish.
