  • Don't know if the drinking window is correct because the wine has softened and have some doubt that it will last a few more years. Keep in mind that there's still bottle variation and I don't cellar under proper conditions. Wonderful integrated aromas of ripe blackberry, black currant, oak, spice, and earth. Very rich on palate. A lot of depth emerges on a fairly clean finish. The small amount of tannins left leave you wanting more. Maybe this wine is better enjoyed by itself as some foods could easily overpower its savoriness.

  • So lovely just right out of the bottle. It's one of those wines that as you pour, you know you're in for something pretty amazing. Beautiful color. Aromas of ripe strawberries, black cherry, boysenberry, rosemary, mushroom, damp earth, roasted peppers, and toast. The wine still has great fruit; blackberry and black currant. Then the tannins gradually emerge putting some weight on the palate and then linger long enough to maintain a satisfying finish. The wine is still fairly rich and nice enough just to have a glass by itself, but will easily complement a meal.

  • Opened on Sunday and we had the same conclusion that the wine was missing its fruit component. Maybe we had missed its peak? On Monday, I had re-tasted it and the fruit did emerge. There was luscious black fruit with some silkiness to the tannins.

  • The color is dark ruby and the dark berry fruit is very forward. The finish is still a little rough but over time this will round out to a very full and rich pinot. A good match with Bistek Encebollada and corn tortillas.
