This needs a little air to really shine. Double decanted off the sediment an hour before leaving for dinner. Followed over a two hour dinner, started as an 89 at the decent and peaked out with the last glass at a solid 95. Such a delight.

For a 40 year old wine the Dunn was great. Still some fruit left but not much. Tertiary flavors are quite present including stewed fruit, tobacco and some black licorice. The tannins were still very present which was nice. After about 2 hours of being open the wine started to fade. Overall, a great old Napa Cabernet.

Tasted at monthly Winos tasting; cellared by TS since release, negligible ullage. // Balanced fruit and tannins, a wine that will age on both fruit and tannins, like Latour; very fine quality of both elements. Very good depth and palate length. Superb showing. Tannins are very very fine. Am not generally a Cab fan, Pinot and Rhone varieties more to my taste, but this wine is the Real Deal. // tasted again next day, no decline nor improvement in wine with more air. Even the sediment tasted good.

Light and elegant; mature; resolved; lean blackberry; some earth; elegant silky finish.

Initially leather blueberry-blackberry; plummy; robust and layered; youthful and still developing; sweet long finish.
