Napa Valley, July 2009; 7/9/2009-7/11/2009 (Napa Valley, CA): Plum and blackberry scents on the nose. Woah, this pinot is darker and more tannic than any Carneros pinot I've tried thus far. Additionally, the fruit flavors don't push through this monster either. Interesting and surprising, but not too enjoyable. One could make a joke about pinot made by cabernet folks, but I think that would unnecessarily disparage their cab skills.

My first trip to Napa, Ca.; 7/9/2009-7/11/2009: Fruit forward, slightly candied fruits with a thin mouthfeel. The finish dies quickly. Extremely boring effort, possible that I am spoiled but this was flat and boring. A light-bodied, easy drink if that's what you desire.
