Popped and decanted, no sediment, medium-plus garnet. Pronounced aromas of dark fruits, violet, smoldering embers, parsley flakes, serrano pepper, tilled soil and crushed stones. Medium-plus body. Flavors of blackberry, black cherry, mint, herbaceous green and a deeper impression of crushed stones and minerals. Wonderfully dry. The tannins are (still) quite chewy and astringent on the plus close. Although the tannins have barely receded, this is in the zone and shows a wonderfully fresh vibrance; drink now and over the next 5+ years. So distinctive.
Fully mature and good to go. Plum pudding, fruitcake, and chocolate with a long, long finish.
If a date, this was a 25 year old MBA student who models lingerie part time and can discuss recent Wall Street Journal articles over dinner with insight and authority while you secretly undress her with your thoughts.
No bricking and beautiful garnet color. Dark baking chocolate and cherry on the nose. A little cedar on the palate. While it was very good last night, it was outstanding tonight. Smooth tannins, full-bodied and terrific balance. Could go a bit longer but why wait. Sadly my last bottle.
