  • Joli vin élégant, un peu évolué, il a digéré du sucre, c’est bien équilibré et agréable, sans être très complexe. Relative déception vu le millésime et le producteur. 89-90 pts

  • premox, very very dark and though it had a decent attach and mid palate (sweet plus acid) there was an annoying aftertaste... sent it down the drain after about 45 mins

  • Drank 375ml over the course of several days. Bright gold color. Great bouquet of honey, apple, pear. Acidity is fading but still alive. I figure a 750 will be good for another 5 years.

  • #16-03, 8.5% abv. As I had written elsewhere before, I had been in sort of a rut with respect to Doennhoff wines, but a few bottles of Hermannshoehle brought me back to the fold. And here I am again with a spectacular half-bottle of Auslese. The nose is quite deep and complex, with lovely white cherry and Thai herbal aromas, as well as a lovely honeyed touch as well. The palate is very rich, with tons of sweet fruit drizzled with honey and lime zest, all of it leaning towards the moderately ripe yellow fruit spectrum. And yet, despite all that sweet richness, this just effortlessly dances across the palate, with that ethereality that made me fall in love with the wines in the first place. This is very clean and pure, and shows very little botrytis spice, at least to me. A lovely riesling.

  • A year with more density and viscosity, loaded with intense dried apricot and pineapple, good acidity, quite a bit of sweetness, and an enduring finish. Still young, fresh, and relatively undeveloped, but a pleasure to drink.

(Donnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Auslese) This had the tiniest hint of petrol and all the Brucke power you could ask for. Saucy, earthy, mineral and ripe this was just starting to get interesting but still needs loads of time.
