Bought this at the cellar door as a back vintage. Last vintage under cork. Very much in agreement with Frege below. Mid garnet ruby. Developing nose with some brambly cherry and raspberry fruit still remaining complemented by gamey forest floor and mushroom notes. Smooth palate with softened tannin and balanced acid. Good lengthy finish. This has aged well. Drink over the next few years. This most recent visit to the Marlborough region has cemented my opinion that Marlborough Pinot Noir is underrated, particularly if you choose well.

At its moment now. Like drinking a fine Premier Cru Burgundy, this wine shows what can be done in New Zealand with Pinot Noir. Engaging nose leads to complex palate. If you disregarded the "drink by 2006" advice and still have this wine, you will be well rewarded!

Opened three hours before drinking, this was a very good pinot. Good fruit on the nose, definite strawberries but not too sickly. Smooth, with a fairly long finish. Quite a different style to previous bottles opened when much younger, this showed more of a Burgundian style.

Medium ruby, wide garnet rim. Nose of morello cherry, spice, lots of toasty oak. Still quite juicy on the palate but more toasty oak, decent depth and soft tannins, good acidity on a reasonable length finish. Still enjoyable, but not improving with age, this iis losing freshness and fruit without sufficient compensating complexity. One to drink sooner rather than later..

characterful pinot, textured 16deep, feral, pinot identifiable; vigorous, wild, characterful. Good intensity. Too drink sooner than later. 15Pale; varietal shows, mature, smokey edge, minerally/expressive; rounded, redcurrants, farmyardy; medium weight; lacks stuffing (young vines?) but very enjoyable.
