Very good shiraz. Not fruit bomby at all at this point. This is elegant and refined, and in a great place right now. Everything has come together gracefully. This is so well balanced with the oak nicely integrated! Had an 06 a few weeks ago, and this one blow the 06 out of at water at this point. This is close to if not already in its prime.
At 12 years of age this is singing. Unlike many other highly extracted fruit bomb Ozzie shiraz, this has aging potential, reflecting the balancing acidity that tempers the fruit and great wine making. Complexity, beautiful nose (some vanilla/oak but not overdone), dark fruit and a pleasure to drink. Have tried 2005 and 2006 vintages, and based on this experience will let them sleep for a while. For the money hard to beat.
Nose soared from the glass, pure dark fruits and a little oak/vanillin. A consistent top shelf shiraz that has both new world fruit and balancing acidity which likely contributes to it's significant aging potential. Nice complexity and long aftertaste. At 12 years of age plenty of life left in this. Fabulous with our porterhouse steak but can drink well by itself.
