Beautifully perfumed classic Volnay nose. Bright, with a darker fruit profile. Mouth coating extract but very well balanced. Shows power of vintage. Just starting to develop. Good minerality on palate, sense of transparency.
Closed and very young. Color is ruby red with no trace of bricking or age yet. The nose reveals little except subtle hints of sour cherries. On the palate it falls flat and tastes like a mild, if unobjectionable, California pinot. Not offensive, but underwhelming.
