i've had mixed results with QC cabs (based on its strong reputation), but still bottle performed very well, took to Chairman's Cup dinner at Menlo CC, very bordeaux like, i would say dark fruited and with a musty dusty texture (in a good way) and very very smooth, cedar and leather (which i rarely taste), great wine and enjoyed by all, this has to be at peak, not a fruit driven wine so i'm not sure this will improve
Tasted non blind. Decanted 2 1/2 hours before serving.
Dark garnet color in the glas, slightly dusty looking. Nose of melted black licorice, kirsch, currants and black berries. Flavors of black cherries, black berries and plums. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or hold.
The color is youthful ruby with purple hues, and an inky core that is opaque. The smells are candied red fruit, blueberry, crushed fruit, cherry liqueur, mushroom and earthy notes. The tastes are blueberry, sweet cherry, pencil, cedary notes, and tart red fruit. The tannins are dry and subtle and the finish is long. Beautiful wine drinking very well right now.
Decanted 2 hours, drank over 2 hours. Dark ruby, pinking edges. Nose of medicinal cherry, alcohol, and almost burnt blackberry. Full body, rather hot flavors did calm slightly, showing raspberry/cherry liqueur, cough medicine, and some bitter oak. Chalky finish, medium length.
