Drink along with 2000 Montrachet from Leflaive and this is better at the start, typical Lafon scent combined with Montrachet terroir, elegant, brilliant, great balance and splendid structure with a very long long finish, layer upon layer, very beautiful wine indeed. 97-98/100
Drank the 00 Lafon and Ramonet Montrachet side by side. Both were in great shape, and both were beautiful. Two of us slightly preferred the Lafon but the majority preferred the Ramonet. Either way, this was a great pair.
Deep golden color with Yquem like unctuousness and an amazingly complex nose offers pear, peach, spices Intensely concentrated, rich and yet perfectly balanced with just the right acidity. Super long finish. This wine just got better over 3 hours. I think it has not yet peaked but it cannot get much better.

(Lafon Montrachet) Chet glided on by with a glass of 2000 Lafon Montrachet. Merci beaucoup. The temperature was a bit warmer than any of the other whites so far, probably on purpose knowing Chet, and the Lafon was pleasant and clean like 2000s are supposed to be, although simpler than I wanted it to be given how much I adore the vintage for whites. It was dusty and chalky with nice limestone flavors.
(Lafon Montrachet) A 2000 Lafon Montrachet was yeasty and a bit stewed in the nose, possessing aromas of creamed corn, coffee grinds and almost a szechuan beefy edge. It still came across oily and a bit syrupy, atypical for 2000, and had pinches of animal as well. Overall, the nose was very exotic. The palate was rich and concentrated with nice texture, oily again, also with good body and garden flavors. Although also kinky and wild on the palate, it was still shorter than I wanted it to be
