Still has some of the vintage's tannic structure but this wine has really improved since I had it a few years ago. The nose is quite perfumed and engaging with dried flowers, smoked meats and cranberry. It is very much red fruited in the mouth and crisp and crunchy with some sweetness at its heart that intensifies with air. I'd still leave this for a couple of years as it is definitely on the up.

(Romanee St. Vivant DRC) The sixth wine of this flight had a great nose with lots going on and a fabulously plummy and rocky dichotomy with beautiful, pure fruit and lovely earth, leather, tobacco and ash aromas as well. The palate was very timid comparatively and overly dry at this stage without as much depth as the nose promised. The finish showed promise, though, for this Jekyll and Hyde
(Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant) Roses and face powder nose; rich, spicy, strawberry palate, mouth filling and concentrated, with sous bois and velvety tannins; long strawberry tinged finish 93+ pts.
