Funky, meaty nose at first that blew off with a 2 hour decant. Nice mature bdx nose. A little simple, in keeping with the vintage’s reputation, but nice tobacco and cigar box flavor with some fruit. For $25, a fantastic deal. Kept getting better with more air. I would decant for at least three hours before you touch it.

Wonderful bottle from a collection with excellent storage condition. The wine is lighter from a relatively poor vintage. But the wine was a good red color with barely a tile edge. Cedary, light but evolved and integrated oak, spices, tobacco and leather. Despite being an 84, this wine was a joy to drink. Many at be table thought they enjoyed this better than the 1988. The 1988 was much less evolved but the 1984 is probably as mature as it is going to be. Top form at this time if out of a good cellar.

Sign of seepage after capsule removal. Red fruit (cherry), slight spice. Fruit a little thin. Enjoyable but a little too thin/ simple. Possible damage.

Corroded capsule, cork fell in. Decanted for sediment. A little thin at first but immediately gained weight. Nice red fruit, slight cigar box, slight spice. Nice lingering finish. Really enjoyable.
