Deep earthy red, dark core. Sweet red berry nose, dark spice, tar and leather, smooth and fragrant. Medium weight, velvety, still with great body, clean long flavours , perfect balance. Plums, damson, black currant, delicious fruits, sweet and intense but with gorgeous earth and licorice spice.

Rotating Dinner Series- Kangaroo Dinner (Frontier, Chicago IL): Nose: Absolutely gorgeous and flowing with a lot of depth and layering. The nose is just jam packed and balanced with herbs, dark red cherries, dark red fruits, violets, perfumes, and some cedar.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium acidity and good supporting tannins. The feel is very polished with herbs, dark red cherries, violets, incense, and some cedar.
Overall: This was the picture of poise and refinement. This was a gorgeous and flowing shiraz that kept getting better in the glass.

Chicago Rotating Dinner Series - August 2013 (the Kangaroo Dinner) (Frontier - Chicago, IL): So, so good. Dark, meaty, and spicy, the nose was a hair more Northern Rhoneish compared to the Hill of Grace. The palate didn't have the extreme elegance that the HoG had...but very close. Had some damp leaves, meat drippings, and dark fruits. Seemed like this still had a lot of life left too...

NobleRottersSydney - Langtons Classification 'Outstanding' (Lucio's, Paddington): So it was with interest I turned to the Emily’s wine. This was a mere 13.5%abv, and displayed a mid red colour, with just a little fading of colour towards the rim. The nose was very soft & muted, with only a gentle indeterminate berry/spice aroma. On the palate the wine was quite anorexic, the fruit having fallen away, leaving fine, furry but very persistent tannins. This wine has been impeccably cellared all its life, and I think many of us were disappointed with it. The finish and length were nothing to write home about – just a persistent astringency. Stephen claimed to have drunk a 91 Penfolds Bin 389 the day before which would knock Emily into a cocked hat, and it was certainly hard to make a case that this is was a Great Wine. Disappointing.
