This is the oldest Leonetti I've tried to date, after recently tasting some extraordinary cabs from the late '80s ('88 and '89). This did not show nearly as well as either of those bottles, and clearly showed its age, with a tawny light ruby color and browning rim. Quite green, vegetal, showing a lot of the flaws of underripened New World merlot, with bell pepper, savory herbs and a bit of plum. Not unpleasant and not dead, but also not at the level of the better Leonettis from the decade.
