Celebrating International Grenache Day (Sherry-Lehmann): Fresh, sweet plum and bitter almonds, cherry pits, slightly oxidized, a hint of ahwa turki or walnut cake. But lean and elegant. Less weight and syrup than port, more flavor and intrigue than a muscat. It is begging to be paired with some not too sweet and monotone dessert!

No formal notes taken. Paired with pear dessert dish at Le Bernardin. One of the best wines of the night. Complex and interesting, deep and refined. What a fantastic wine.

Great but tea-leaf like tannic bite and I'll bet this needs time to unfurl.

Paired great with chocolate hazelnut and plum cake. Excellent on its own as well, lighter more delicate port.
