medium yellow color. tons of flowers on the nose. also pineapple, gummy bears and ripe melon. tons of creamy tropical fruits like pineapple and canteloupe, but it maintains crisp acid while having an almost oily mouthfeel. nice stuff.

Tasted 3-9-09. Intense nose of kiwi, citrus, honeydew... similar to some of the New Zealand Marlborough sauvingnon blancs... & a bit of white peach plus a whiff of papaya. Palate of honeydew, pear, allspice, & lime; some orange notes below all that. Good acidity. The touch of spiciness I noticed is fun, like a fruitier gewurz. Should be good with flavorful seafood [crab] or spicy food. Also as a warm weather quaffer. Nice for a change of pace from the std. whites. Fruity but not cloying. Excellent QPR. Well worth keeping around.

(Crios de Susana Balbo Torrontés, Salta) This pretty little wine is made from Argentina's most widely planted white varietal, which is actually a native of Spain. The Torrontés grapes were grown at a warm latitude, but at a cool, 5,000-foot elevation. Delicate-but-persistant notes of gardenia, fruit cocktail, litchi, honeydew, lime, and green tea emerge on the nose. Flowers, fruit, and perfume surround you in this aromatic wine, reminiscent of a combination of Gewürztraminer and Muscat. It smells sweet, but it's dry, light, and clean on the palate, without even a trace of oak. It would be great with dishes featuring aromatic herbs, such as ceviche or Thai-basil chicken. Hot Picks

Very pleasant wine. Drank mostly by other family members. Notes of white peach, melon and a little lemon. Just slightly off-dry.

Aromas of peach, apricot, and spring flowers. Ripe flavors of tropical fruit and a flower petal taste. Crisp and refreshing. ($13)

As with my first tasting, flowers and tropical fruit on the nose, tropical fruit with a slightly buttery finish on the palate. Delicious.
