This has improved considerably since my first bottle about 4 years ago. It now tastes fairly mature, with red cherry fruit and a rather meaty character. Good weight and length. Sturdy rather than elegant. This should keep well and I will try to leave the remaining two for a couple of years before trying again.

Gently bottle breathe for 1.5 hours (without pouring out from the bottle). Rather reserved nose with red fruit, and high density. The palate is good mix of cherry, wood with some complexity. Medium finishing with some mint. Easy to drink.

A fairly deep colour, mid-red; quite a sturdy wine, with fairly dense fruit and good length. Lacks a little flair at present and is more premier cru than grand cru, but it may improve as it has the structure to keep well.

nice bottle of wine, with true Clos de Beze typicity -- ie meaty, along with the darkish fruit, and a tiny bit edgy / stern (rather than easy drinking like, say, Chambolle)...probably didn't give it enough air (90 mins of decant before we started drinking it)... nice Beze but not up there with many producers / vintages... then again I thing I only paid $120 for it when I bought it... today those prices are 2-3 X
